Rab – honest mountain clothing from Sheffield

Rab was founded in 1981 by Scottish climber Rab Carrington in Sheffield, after he had learned to sew sleeping bags at a friend's place in Buenos Aires. The first sleeping bags were hand-sewn in his attic at home, and the brand grew quickly from his close climbing circle to become a key supplier of sleeping bags and down jackets for the British climbing community.

Rab is known for expedition sleeping bags, down jackets and robust shell jackets such as the Microlight Alpine and the Neutrino. The brand has close ties to the Peak District, and products are still sewn and filled by hand in Derbyshire today.
