From a small unit at Skansen in 1988 to three shops in Tromsø – we still live for quality, knowledge and good service.

Since 1988 we have been dressing people in Northern Norway – for work, for the outdoors and for everything life throws in between. It started small in a little unit at Skansen, and it has always been about the same things: quality, knowledge and good service.

From Skansen to three shops in Tromsø

Jobb og Fritid was established in 1988, and in the early days the fishing industry was at the centre of what we did. We supplied hardwearing workwear to people who needed clothing that could handle rough weather, long shifts and heavy use. As the years went on, both our customer base and our range grew. Today you will find us at Jekta Storsenter – Northern Norway's largest shopping centre – in a unit of around 1,000 square metres, packed with garments and equipment for both working life and leisure. We also have two further shops: one in Veita in Tromsø city centre, and Bedriftsenteret, which is dedicated to business customers and professional workwear.

Workwear and outdoor life

Workwear remains an important part of what we do, and we supply a number of businesses in the region – from fishing and industry to trades and the service sector. Alongside this we have built up a selection of leisure and outdoor clothing that we are proud of. We stock well-regarded brands such as Arc'teryx and Norrøna, and if we do not have exactly what you are looking for in stock, we are happy to try and source it for you.

Quality and knowledgeable guidance

The garments we sell should last, and the advice you receive should be trustworthy. We take time with our customers, ask the right questions and help you find what suits you – whether you are heading into the mountains, working out in the cold or simply need a good shell jacket for everyday use. Northern Norwegian weather makes its demands, and that is something we understand.
