Sustainability
We want to be a locally rooted store known for high quality, with sustainability in focus at every stage. Our range consists of high-quality, long-lasting products — so the clothing and gear you buy from us lasts.

Eco-Lighthouse certified
Jobb og Fritid AS was certified as an Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) on 20 June 2025. The certification commits us to systematic work on reducing our environmental footprint through concrete measures.
Verify the certification at MiljøfyrtårnOur focus areas
The certification covers four main areas we work on systematically every year:
Responsible purchasing
We choose brands and suppliers that take environmental responsibility themselves — such as Norrøna, Arc'Teryx and Helly Hansen — and prioritise products made from recycled or certified materials.
Environmentally friendly transport
We consolidate shipments to reduce the number of journeys, and work with carriers that actively reduce emissions.
Waste reduction
Waste sorting in all stores and at the warehouse. Packaging from suppliers is handled through return schemes. We reduce the use of single-use plastic wherever we can.
Efficient energy use
Energy monitoring in the stores, LED lighting, and measures to keep energy consumption down without compromising the customer experience.
Quality that lasts
The most important environmental measure we take every day is selling quality that lasts.
A garment that lasts ten years has a lower environmental footprint than three garments replaced every three years.
That's why our range is built around brands with a strong repair and warranty culture:
Arc'Teryx
Long service life and lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
Norrøna
Norwegian manufacturer with a strong focus on recycled materials and repair.
Helly Hansen
Leisurewear built to withstand the Nordic climate over time.
Helly Hansen Workwear
Robust, technical-quality workwear that can be used year after year.
Our goals
We work systematically to:
Reduce waste and emissions
Maximise resource utilisation
Ensure a safe and good working environment
We also want to inspire customers and partners to make more environmentally friendly choices — through advice in the store and by highlighting products with a low environmental footprint online.
What does Eco-Lighthouse mean?
Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) is Norway's most widely used certification scheme for environmentally friendly operations. The certification means we meet concrete requirements in several areas:
- Working environment
- Waste management
- Energy use
- Purchasing
- Transport
Every year we report on how we're improving. Every three years the certification is audited by an independent consultant, and we must document continuous improvement to keep our status.
