Fleece is a light, warm and breathable material that has been a cornerstone of outdoor wardrobes for decades. It dries quickly, retains heat even when slightly damp and is comfortable worn directly against the skin.
We stock fleece from several brands – from thin, lightweight styles to thick Polartec versions. Many are made from recycled materials.
Patagonia has the widest fleece range we carry for women. Better Sweater is the classic knit-faced fleece for everyday use and cabin life, Retro Pile is the thick, soft pile jacket for cold days, and R1 Air is the lightweight, breathable option for active use. All are made with recycled polyester, and you can try them in our shops in Tromsø.
For running and high-output activity: thin, breathable fleece. For hiking: medium thickness, ideally with windblock panels. For cabin life and everyday use: thick, soft fleece with a high half- or full-zip. Fleece also works well as a mid-layer under a shell jacket on cold outings.
Getting your top half right is about thinking in layers. Baselayer wicks moisture away, mid-layer retains heat, and shell protects against the weather. We stock garments for all these layers and are happy to help you in-store to put together a setup that suits your activity and conditions.
