Technical garments such as shell jackets, sleeping bags and hiking boots require proper care to maintain their performance. Standard detergent can damage DWR waterproofing and membranes – specialist products are therefore essential.
We stock washing and waterproofing products for wool, down, shell, leather and synthetic materials.
Wash your shell jacket with a technical cleaner (not ordinary soap). Re-waterproof when water droplets no longer bead on the surface. Use specialist cleaners for wool and down. Proper care keeps GORE-TEX and similar membranes performing well for many years. Ask us for advice – we are happy to help with products and guidance.
