Osprey Firn 28 is a lightweight, durable and functional ski touring pack developed for alpine touring situations where you need to switch quickly between skinning, climbing and descents. The harness-inspired fit holds the pack close to the body and provides excellent freedom of movement in technical terrain. The flexible, snow-shedding back panel prevents the build-up of snow and ice and keeps the carry stable in changing conditions. An innovative lasso-style attachment system makes it possible to attach skis on either the right or left side without removing the pack – a significant advantage in steep couloirs and on exposed ridges. The avalanche equipment pocket in the front panel keeps your shovel and probe readily accessible, while a separate pocket accommodates skins or crampons.

The harness-shaped shoulder straps feature a dedicated pocket for a phone or GPS, and the upper compression straps also serve as an ice axe attachment. The pack has a reinforced ski loop that can be stowed away, dual attachments for skis or poles, and a removable helmet net in the bottom compartment for safe helmet transport.
