Ski bags are designed to carry skis and specialist equipment for winter sports. They feature attachment points for skis in a diagonal or side carry, and space for an ice axe, snow shovel and other winter-specific items.
We stock ski bags. Many have a back panel that withstands harsh weather and a snow pocket for wet gear.
For ski touring and randonnée: 30–40 litres with attachment points for skis and an ice axe. For alpine and freeride: 20–35 litres, ideally with an avalanche airbag for safety. For long ski trips: 40–60 litres with a more supportive carry system. Safety equipment such as a shovel and probe should always be taken on ski tours.
A good rucksack should sit firmly on the hips – the hip belt should carry most of the weight, not the shoulder straps. Make sure the back system suits your torso length and that the bag has good ventilation against your back. We are happy to help you find the right size and fit in store.
