Which gilet is right for you?

For training and high-output activity: a lightweight, breathable gilet. For everyday use and outings in cool weather: a down gilet offers the most warmth per gram. Choose one with good back ventilation if you perspire heavily, and one with a high collar for extra wind protection.

Layering is the key

For conditions in northern Norway, layering is the smartest approach. Next to the skin, a baselayer in wool or technical synthetic; a mid-layer for warmth; and an outer shell to protect against the weather. With the right combination you can adjust your temperature to suit activity and conditions without changing your entire wardrobe.
