How to choose the right parka

Think about how warm the jacket needs to be. For a mild winter climate, a lightly insulated parka will often suffice, whereas for Arctic conditions you should opt for one with down insulation or a thicker synthetic fill. Also make sure the jacket has a good hood, wind-resistant cuffs and well-positioned pockets.
