Exped Lightning 50 is a lightweight backpack for trekking and multi-day trips, with a pack weight of around 1.2 kg. The main compartment closes with a roll-top and features a zip at the top for quick access when the bag is rolled shut. The zigzag compression straps on the front and sides adjust the volume and secure larger gear such as sleeping mats or tents.

The suspension system (T-Rex) is height-adjustable with aluminium stays and reduced contact points that allow air to circulate against the back. Weight is transferred to a padded hip belt with zip pockets. The back length is adjustable from 43 to 56 cm, covering sizes S/M and L/XL.

The pack features two elasticated side pockets for water bottles or poles, an elasticated front pocket, a zip pocket on the top lid, and a pocket on the shoulder strap. Pole attachments are also included on the side and front.

The main fabric is 210D HMPE ripstop nylon, PU-coated with a 1000 mm water column, and the base is reinforced with recycled 600D polyester with a 1500 mm water column. Both fabrics are bluesign-approved. The pack is PFAS-free and produced with recycled materials.
