Exped – Swiss outdoor equipment from Zürich

Exped was established in Zürich, Switzerland, in 1983 by Heidi and Andreas Brun, originally as a distributor of well-known outdoor brands. In 1997 the company began developing its own products, and is today particularly recognised for sleeping mats, tents, sleeping bags and drybags, with a distinctly Swiss emphasis on precision and attention to detail.

Sleeping mats in a class of their own

Exped revolutionised the market in 2002 with the Downmat – the world's first sleeping mat with down insulation – and has since launched a wide range of models including the SynMat, Ultra and MegaMat, with insulation suited to everything from summer trips to winter expeditions. The mats are known for high R-values, well-considered valve design and a long service life.
