Arc'teryx Gamma MX Hoody is the warmest model in the Gamma series, developed for demanding mountain conditions where weather and terrain change rapidly. The jacket was originally designed for ice climbing but has over time evolved into a highly versatile garment for everything from alpine tours to technical activities in mixed conditions.

The durable Fortius 2.0 softshell fabric offers a balanced combination of insulation, low weight and high durability, while protecting against wind and repelling light moisture thanks to a PFAS-free DWR treatment. The fabric breathes well and allows heat to escape as intensity increases, keeping the body at a stable temperature throughout the day.

The articulated fit provides natural freedom of movement, and the regular silhouette offers ample room for light mid-layers without the garment feeling bulky or heavy. The cuffs sit comfortably under gloves, and a low-profile elastic at the wrist prevents cold air from creeping in. Taped seams increase weather resistance, provide a clean finish and reinforce the construction.

The StormHood is fully helmet-compatible and provides excellent coverage without obstructing peripheral vision. Adjustment is simple and precise, keeping the hood securely in place even in demanding conditions. At the hem, a drawcord allows the garment to be cinched to keep out draughts and snow.

The Gamma MX Hoody features four zip pockets — two chest pockets and two hand pockets — giving easy access to small items even when wearing a pack or climbing harness. The hand pockets are positioned so they can be used without a hipbelt getting in the way.
