Gaiters protect the lower leg and the join between trousers and footwear against snow, rain and slush. They are essential for winter walks in deep snow and long summer hikes in wet terrain.

Gaiters are especially useful in deep snow, wet terrain or harsh weather where water would otherwise run down into your boots. They also stop small stones and moss from getting in. Make sure your gaiters fit snugly around the shoe and under the sole – loose gaiters lose much of their effectiveness.
