Stanley – an American flask classic since 1913

Stanley was founded in 1913 when inventor William Stanley Jr. patented the world's first vacuum-insulated all-steel flask. The inspiration came from his work with transformers, where he discovered that a welding technique could be used to insulate a bottle with steel instead of glass. In 1915 he established Stanley Insulating Company in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. The brand is today owned by Pacific Market International (PMI) and is marketed internationally under the name Stanley 1913.

Classics and "Built for Life"

The iconic green hammer-tone vacuum flask is a symbol of robust and reliable outdoor equipment, used by hunters, tradespeople, construction workers and hikers. Stanley's flasks were used by American B-17 pilots during the Second World War and are known for keeping drinks hot for a full working day. The Stanley Quencher tumbler was launched in 2016 and gained renewed popularity around 2020 following viral campaigns on social media.
