South Korean crampons and microspikes for snow and ice

Snowline – South Korean crampons for winter terrain

Snowline is a South Korean manufacturer of crampons and microspikes based in Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do. The brand has become a global reference point for traction on snow and ice, and holds several of the underlying patents that have shaped the market. Chainsen is the flagship range, known for solid elastomer rubber, hardwearing stainless steel and easy fitting over footwear.

Chainsen Pro and Chainsen Light

Chainsen Pro is the original model – with thicker elastomer straps, 12 spikes per foot in 400-series stainless steel, and reinforced eyelets for demanding off-road use. Suited to heavy mountain boots, hunting trips, forestry work and tough winter conditions. Chainsen Light is the lightweight version, 243 g per pair – 28% lighter than Microspikes – while still offering 12 spikes per foot, distributed as 8 at the forefoot and 4 at the heel. The spikes are 12.2–14.9 mm long, and the chain is welded stainless steel for high tensile strength.

Use in Norway and the Nordic region

Snowline crampons are widely sold in the Nordic countries, where ice cleats have become an indispensable part of winter kit for many people. The flexible chain construction means the spikes adapt to different shoe models and allow snow to fall through rather than clump. A sound choice if you want secure footing on mirror-smooth pavements, frozen paths and icy cycling routes – whether you are taking short everyday walks or using crampons in a work context.
