Sidas – French insole specialist since 1975
Sidas was founded in 1975 by three French ski instructors – Loïc David, Jacques Martin and Gabriel Pellicot – who all wanted to make skiers' feet more comfortable. The name is an acronym for Société d'Importation et de Distribution d'Articles de Sport. Loïc David had the idea for a moulded insole when he noticed a footprint in the sand on a beach in Hawaii, and he cast his first prototypes in a kitchen baking tin. Today, Sidas is a global expert in ergonomic foot solutions for sport and everyday use.
Custom-moulded and off-the-shelf
Sidas offers two main categories of insoles. The Custom Pro insoles are 100% bespoke – fitted to each individual foot using Sidas' own Flashfit machine (winner of the ISPO Award 2008) in collaboration with specialist retailers. The 3Feet range is ready-to-wear off-the-shelf, available in three arch types: low, medium and high arch. Sidas supplies dedicated models for skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, trail running, hiking, golf, cycling and everyday use – each tailored to specific requirements.
Technology and range of products
Winter 3Feet insoles feature gel pads directly under the heel for shock absorption, as well as an aluminium foil under the forefoot that acts as a radiant barrier for improved insulation against the cold inside a ski boot. Sidas also offers technical 3Feet socks (winner of the Outdoor Award 2011), heated footwear (ISPO Award 2013) and a wide range of foot accessories. An excellent choice if you want greater comfort, warmer feet and better power transfer in ski, mountain or running footwear.
