Waterproof dry bags and rucksacks from Cascade Designs since 1986
SealLine – waterproof protection since 1986
SealLine is an American brand that makes waterproof dry bags, rucksacks, duffel bags and cases for paddlers, adventurers and commuters who need reliable protection for their gear. The brand started as a solution for wet equipment at sea – originally made for the maritime industry – and in 1986 SealLine launched its dual-strip closure for roll-top dry bags, an innovation that set the standard for modern dry bag design. SealLine is part of the Cascade Designs family, alongside Therm-a-Rest, MSR and PackTowl.
Technologies and closure systems
SealLine uses several proprietary technologies to ensure waterproof protection. DrySeal roll-top is an updated version of the dual-strip closure that provides intuitive sealing. PurgeAir valve allows air to escape from the bag after sealing, so the bag packs more compactly without losing its waterproofness. RF-welded seams (radio frequency) bond the material together at a molecular level – up to twice as strong as traditional sewn and taped seams. SealLine has three water-resistance ratings: Splashproof, Waterproof and Submersible (IP-67, withstands 1 m submersion for 30 minutes).
Range and sustainability
SealLine offers a wide range, including Pro Dry Pack (70 L and 120 L), Boundary, Discovery and Black Canyon for paddlers, as well as smaller dry bags for everyday use and map cases. Many models are PVC-free to reduce environmental impact. SealLine manufactures in the USA and places emphasis on repairability for a longer service life. A solid choice if you paddle, fish, sail or simply need reliable waterproof storage for your trip.
