Light My Fire – Swedish outdoor with a smile and colours since 1995

Light My Fire was founded by Michael Odqvist in Sweden in 1995. It started with MayaSticks – fire starters made from resin-rich pine from Guatemala – followed by Swedish FireSteel, a magnesium fire steel developed in collaboration with the Swedish armed forces. The combination of these two products laid the foundation for a brand that is today sold in over 50 countries and 7,800 shops. His daughter Calill Odqvist is CEO, and production takes place at the company's own factory in Västervik, Sweden.

Spork, FireSteel and Mealkit

The Spork was launched in 2005 as part of the Mealkit, designed by Joachim Nordwall. The Spork combines spoon, fork and knife in a single 170 mm utensil, and over 50 million units have been sold worldwide. The family has grown to include the Spork Original, Spork XM, Spork Little, Spork Large and Spork Titanium in grade 2 titanium. The steel version is made from 96% recycled 18/8 steel. Swedish FireSteel is available in an Army version (12,000 strikes) and a Scout version (3,000), both producing sparks at 3,000 °C in all weather conditions.

Materials and sustainability

Plastic handles and utensils are made from bio-based plastic – the Cocoshell composite combines coconut shell with polypropylene. The products are BPA-free, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. The range also includes the Swedish FireKnife with integrated fire steel, the Pack-up Cup, lunch boxes and plates in a stackable design. A great choice if you want durable, colourful and reusable outdoor products with a distinctly Swedish craft character.
