JALAS – Nordic safety footwear expertise since 1916

JALAS is a Finnish footwear brand with roots going back to 1916, manufactured by Urho Viljanmaa Oy. The brand is centred around safety footwear and work shoes with a strong focus on ergonomics, safety and comfort. Since 2008, JALAS has been part of the Swedish group Ejendals, which supplies protective equipment to professional users across Europe.

The range includes safety shoes and boots in various protection classes, as well as work shoes without a protective toe cap for occupations that do not require one. Technical features include JALAS FX3 Soft insoles, Vibram outsoles, BOA Fit System, waterproof membranes, nail penetration protection and ergonomic lasts. Model series such as Exalter and SPOC are established names for tradespeople, warehouse workers and industrial users.

Ergonomics and certification

The shoes meet the relevant European safety standards and place emphasis on correct support and flexibility throughout a long working day. JALAS also offers foot analysis via dedicated scanners that help the user find the right model and insole.
