Hilleberg – Swedish quality tents since 1971

Hilleberg the Tentmaker is a Swedish tent company founded in 1971 by Bo and Renate Hilleberg. The head office is located on Frösön in northern Sweden, and the brand is recognised worldwide for its expedition and touring tents, which are renowned for their unrivalled quality, durability and design. The company remains family-owned, and since 2016 the founders' daughter Petra Hilleberg has led the company as CEO.

Pioneering innovation

In 1973, Hilleberg launched the Keb – the world's first double-wall tent in which the outer and inner tent can be pitched simultaneously as a single unit. This remains one of the most significant innovations in modern tent design. In 1975, Hilleberg was the first manufacturer to use silicone-coated fabrics instead of polyurethane, resulting in stronger, lighter and more durable outer fabrics. Today, Kerlon fabrics are Hilleberg's hallmark – exceptionally strong silicone-coated ripstop nylon with hydrostatic head ratings from 5,000 mm and above.

A wide range for all conditions

Hilleberg produces around 40 different tent models, all focused on specialised lightweight expedition tents in the premium segment. The flagship is the Keron tunnel tent; other well-known models include the Nammatj (single vestibule), Allak (freestanding dome tent), Anjan (lightweight 3-season), Akto (classic 1-person tent), Soulo, Unna, Rogen, Staika, Kaitum and Nallo. Hilleberg tents are used on expeditions in the Arctic, Greenland, Antarctica and the world's most remote locations. Production takes place in Rapla, Estonia, under Hilleberg Eesti.
