DUER

Canadian performance jeans for active, urban and outdoor enthusiasts

DUER – Canadian jeans built for movement

DUER was founded in 2013 in Vancouver, Canada by Gary Lenett and Abid Hafeez. Lenett, who had over 30 years of experience in the denim industry and had made jeans for brands including Levi's, Gap, Guess and Ralph Lauren, wanted to create a garment that could handle a morning cycle commute, a work meeting and a hike in the hills – all in the same pair. The result was Performance Denim – jeans with a classic look and technical stretch. The first three products were launched via Kickstarter, raising over 600,000 dollars in funding.

Performance Denim, No Sweat and motion gusset

The range includes Performance Denim (classic jeans with stretch), No Sweat Pants (denim-style trousers with the feel of joggers), Live Free (lightweight outdoor trousers), Stretch Canvas jackets and LuxTwill trousers in a more formal style. The brand's signature feature is the motion gusset – a sewn-in gusset at the crotch that provides maximum freedom of movement. Styles are available in cuts such as Slim, Slim Straight, Straight, Relaxed, Wide Leg and Girlfriend (women's).

Sustainable materials and fair-wage production

The fabrics consist of up to 95% plants and recycled materials – including organic cotton, eucalyptus, wood pulp and recycled polyester, with approximately 2% Lycra for stretch. Production takes place at a LEED-certified factory in Pakistan, with additional partners in China (BSCI-compliant) and Peru. DUER uses non-toxic dyes and reduces water consumption throughout the entire supply chain. A sound choice if you want comfortable, durable jeans that work just as well on the bike as they do in the office.
