Dermatone – skin protection for extreme conditions since 1981
Dermatone was founded in 1981 by Ric Nelson, and was originally formulated in Sweden as the first product on the market to combine cold protection with sun cream in one and the same formula. In 2020 the company was acquired by Penfield Marketing Group, and is today operated from Southport, Connecticut. Dermatone has been tested in some of the world's most demanding environments – from Mount Everest and K2 to Antarctica and Death Valley.
Lip balm, sun cream and frost protection
Original Medicated Lip Balm SPF 30 is the brand's iconic product – a sweat- and water-resistant lip balm that protects against sun, wind, cold and dryness. The range also includes Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 with non-nano zinc oxide, Sport Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 and SPF 50 for face and body, Anti-Chafe Body Stick for runners and endurance athletes, as well as Camphor Ice – a soothing balm for chapped skin. Active ingredients include cocoa butter, aloe vera, sunflower oil, tea tree oil and lanolin.
Official partner of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team
Dermatone is the official sun cream, lip balm and frost protection for the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team, and is used by, among others, cross-country skiing star Jessie Diggins. The products are sweat-resistant, water-resistant for up to 80 minutes and provide broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB. An excellent choice for those who take part in winter sports, high-mountain hiking, climbing or sailing – and need skin protection that genuinely lasts throughout the entire day.
