Bollé

French sunglasses, goggles and helmets for sport and leisure since 1888

Bollé – French eyewear pioneer since 1888

Bollé is a French brand with over 130 years of history, founded in 1888 by Seraphin Bollé in Oyonnax – a region of France often referred to as the «French Silicon Valley» of the plastics industry. The company began by producing combs and hair accessories from boxwood and horn, before later moving into eyewear. In 1936, Maurice and Robert Bollé launched the first sunglasses and introduced the iconic crown symbol that remains Bollé's logo to this day. Today, Bollé is part of the Bollé Brands group, headquartered in Lyon.

Innovation in materials and lens technology

After the Second World War, Bollé was a pioneer in moulded nylon for sunglasses – a revolution in the industry. The Cat-Eye model from 1956, designed by Georges Bollé, became an international fashion classic. In 1960, Bollé launched its first ski goggle, and since then the brand has been a key player in winter sports. Bollé's patented polycarbonate lens technology delivers superior clarity, impact resistance and UV protection, and the brand also offers its own polarised options for water sports, golf and driving.

A wide range for sport and everyday use

Today, Bollé offers an extensive range: sunglasses for sport and everyday use, ski and snowboard goggles, ski helmets (launched in 2007), cycling helmets (from 2015) and optical glasses. The brand holds particularly strong positions in winter sports, golf, tennis, cycling, trail running and maritime activities. Bollé has collaborated with, among others, Banesto, ONCE and Le Coq Sportif. A solid choice for those who want quality protection and clean lines from a brand rooted in deep French craftsmanship.
