Arctic Edge
Premium wool garments designed on Svalbard
Arctic Edge – wool garments designed on Svalbard since 2013
Arctic Edge was established in 2013 in Longyearbyen on Svalbard by guide Yann Rashid, after a cold snowmobile trip along the east coast of Svalbard showed him that his expensive equipment was not enough to keep him warm. The goal was to create premium wool garments that could genuinely withstand cold polar conditions. In 2021, the Oslo office was established to handle sales in mainland Norway.
Merino wool, possum and silk
The garments are produced in New Zealand using an exclusive blend of merino wool, possum and silk, which provides a high warmth-to-weight ratio, softness and durability. The range includes hats, headwear, neck warmers and gloves in a variety of styles, among them the Svalbard Beanie and the Antarctica Beanie, often in neutral colours with discreet branding.
At the North Pole, South Pole and Everest
Arctic Edge products have been used on expeditions to both the North Pole, the South Pole and the summit of Everest, and are sold in, among other places, the world's northernmost and southernmost shops (Ny-Ålesund and Port Lockroy) as well as on expedition cruises. A natural choice for those who want exclusive, warm wool accessories with a distinct polar identity.
