Alfa – Norwegian mountain boots since 1931

Alfa is a long-established Norwegian footwear brand that has been on the Norwegian market for over 90 years. The company was founded in 1931 in Oslo, and from 1956 to 2007 production was run at the factory in Brandbu på Hadeland. Today Alfa is a trademark and sales company with production abroad, focusing on mountain boots, hunting boots and ski boots – developed for Norwegian nature and Nordic hiking traditions. The vision is «Developed by Norwegian nature».

Classics and groundbreaking models

Alfa is perhaps best known for the M/77 marsjstøvelen – a light, durable and easy-to-maintain boot adopted by the Norwegian Armed Forces in 1977 and in use for over 30 years. In 2008, the M/77 won Norsk Designråds klassikerpris. Other classics include the Walk King/Queen models with a good fit and wide design, Skaget Perform, Bregne, Piggen, Gneis, Frya, Holt, as well as tall hunting boots and specialist models for ski touring such as Juvass for alpine touring.

AlfaAir, Gore-Tex and Vibram

Alfa's boots combine Norwegian hiking traditions with modern materials. AlfaAir™ is a multi-layer synthetic upper that is considerably lighter than leather, extremely durable, breathable, maintenance-free and quick-drying. The leather models are made from nubuck or full-grain leather for thermal insulation and stability. Most models come with a GORE-TEX membrane for water-resistant properties and breathability, and solid Vibram outsoles with various rubber compounds provide good grip across varied terrain.
