adidas – three stripes since 1949
adidas is one of the world's best-known sportswear brands, founded in Germany in 1949 by Adolf "Adi" Dassler. The name comes from the founder's nickname (Adi) and surname (Dassler). The headquarters remains in Herzogenaurach in Bavaria, and the brand is recognised worldwide for its three distinctive stripes – the design that was registered as a trademark in 1952.
A broad range
adidas supplies footwear, clothing and equipment for a wide range of sporting and everyday activities, including running, football, basketball, tennis, training, outdoor activities and lifestyle. Within the outdoor category you will find the Terrex range for mountain sports, hiking and trail running, with technical jackets, shells, shoes and rucksacks built to handle demanding conditions. Classic models such as Stan Smith, Superstar and Samba have become iconic both on and off the sports field.
Innovation and sustainability
adidas has a long history of innovation in sports technology – from Boost midsoles and Primeknit uppers for footwear, to water-repellent and breathable shells in clothing. The company has a strong focus on sustainability and collaborates with, among others, Parley for the Oceans to create products made from recycled ocean plastic, and has launched Made to be Remade concepts featuring fully recyclable products. A great choice if you want reliable sportswear and footwear from a brand with over 75 years of experience and broad expertise in sport and outdoor life.
