For everyday use: 200 g/m² merino wool is versatile. For intense activity: lighter wool (150–180 g/m²) that breathes better. For extreme cold: heavier wool (250+ g/m²). Make sure the top fits well – not too tight, not too loose.
Children move around a lot and warm up and cool down quickly. Merino wool regulates temperature naturally, does not itch, and smells less than synthetic materials. A good set of wool base layers keeps a child comfortable through the school day, play and outdoor trips – and often lasts for several years.
