Exped Dura 8R LW is an exceptionally durable and warm sleeping mat developed for year-round use and demanding expeditions. It is well suited for long trips in alpine and polar environments, tough paddling expeditions, and hikes where reliable warmth and comfort are critical. The mat offers a considered balance between low weight, high insulation, solid construction, and good sleeping comfort.

DOWNMAT TECHNOLOGY™ with RDS-certified 700 cuin down ensures highly effective insulation regardless of weather conditions. With a thickness of 9 cm, the mat provides good comfort even on uneven and hard surfaces. The air chambers run the full length, contributing to stable sleeping support, even pressure distribution, and increased durability. The Dura series is made from recycled 75D/170D ripstop polyester that is both robust and environmentally friendly, and the material is Oeko-Tex® 100 certified.

The LW version is extra long and extra wide compared to the standard model, providing ample space for larger individuals or when sleeping under the open sky. Despite its solid construction, the mat has a low packed volume and fits comfortably in a pack on longer trips. The included Schnozzel pump bag makes inflation quick, easy, and completely moisture-free, with no lung power required.

Exped Dura 8R LW has an R-value of 7.8 measured according to the ASTM F3340 standard and is designed for use down to temperatures as low as -40 °C. The mat is 197 cm long, 65 cm wide, and has a packed size of 27 × Ø 17.5 cm. Total weight is 1235 grams, and the mat is delivered ready for year-round use in demanding conditions.
