Softshell trousers are flexible, windproof and water-resistant – ideal for most outdoor activities in dry or lightly damp conditions. The fabric stretches, breathes and keeps light rain out.
We stock men's softshell trousers from several brands. Many models have a lined interior for extra warmth and reinforcements where they are needed most.
Softshell is a great choice for skiing, climbing, mountain hiking in dry weather and everyday outings. On the wettest days we recommend a shell trouser instead, but for most active outdoor pursuits softshell is an extremely comfortable option.
A good outdoor trouser should sit well over the hips without being tight in the crotch or at the knees. Make sure the waistband does not dig in under your rucksack's hip belt. Many models have an adjustable waist and reinforcements on exposed areas such as the seat, knees and thighs.
